Horseshoe Resort and Fit Chicks team up

WEEKEND OF SWEAT AND SASSLocal fitness retreat includes meals, fitness classes, wellness workshops and more

BARRIE, ONTARIO, October 12, 2012 – On a quest to encourage healthy living, FIT CHICKS, one of Canada’s top fitness and lifestyle companies and Horseshoe Resort, have teamed up to offer the first ever “Sweats & Sass” Retreat, an action-packed all-girls weekend focusing on health and wellness.

The retreat, taking place October 26-28, starts from $349 per person and includes two nights’ accommodations at the Inn at Horseshoe, a specially-designed FIT CHICK approved menu, and a robust itinerary of activities and workshops. Several fitness classes are on the program, such as bootcamp, Zumba® and yoga, nutrition and wellness workshops, guided hikes and more.

“We came up with the idea for ‘Sweats & Sass’ in response to the lack of all-inclusive local fitness retreats close to the GTA,” said Laura Jackson, Co-Founder and Head Chick. “FIT CHICKS is about inspiring, educating and motivating women to embrace a healthy lifestyle and the facilities at Horseshoe were a perfect match for the challenging itinerary we’ve put together.”

Less than an hour from Toronto and with more than 680 acres of land, Horseshoe Resort is well-equipped for fitness retreats. The resort boasts two golf courses, an Adventure Park, stables, Treetop Trekking course, Yamaha activity centre and more, perfect for active guests visiting in any season. The Japanese-inspired Shizen Spa serves as a relaxing respite for FIT CHICKS post-workout.

For more information or to register for the “Sweats & Sass” Retreat, visit www.fitchicks.ca or phone 1-877-F1-CHICK. For information about Horseshoe Resort, visit www.horseshoeresort.com. Rates based on double occupancy.
