HUNTSVILLE, ON, August 13, 2013 – Set in the heart of Muskoka, Deerhurst, a Skyline Resort has announced the return of Chef Michael Smith along with Karl Lohnes and Anna and Michael Olson for the newly expanded, celebrity stacked weekend event, “‘Twas the Month Before Christmas.”

Taking place November 15-17, the weekend centres on giving guests tips and tricks for putting together a spectacular holiday experience. Host and design expert Karl Lohnes will guide attendees through a weekend of demonstrations and workshops on cooking, baking, entertaining, crafts, gifts and shopping.

“I love Deerhurst and I’m looking forward to another round of show-stopping surprises and a riotous and tasty weekend full of fun, friends and flavours,” said Chef Michael Smith.

Starting from $569* per person the ‘Twas the Month Before Christmas package includes a Friday night marché dinner hosted by Karl Lohnes and Chef Michael Smith, breakfast each morning, a cooking demo with Chef Michael, Saturday lunch, interactive dinner hosted by Chef Michael and an after party with DJ and dancing. Guests who book before August 31, 2013 will be entered into a draw to win a VIP seat at Anna and Michael Olson’s dinner table.

“The holidays are all about family, food, decorations and fun,” says Chris Lund, General Manager of Deerhurst Resort.  “What better place to gain holiday  inspiration than at Deerhurst, where generations of guests celebrate the season year after year in the Christmas card setting of Muskoka.”

The two-day event includes a wide range of sessions and workshops to choose from, including festive décor with celebrity decorator Karl Lohnes, holiday baking with Anna and Michael Olson, hands-on Christmas crafting and even yoga sessions to help you get through the stress of hosting. The weekend also includes on-site Christmas Village shopping to help guests find that special gift they’ve been searching for.

With 760 acres overlooking picturesque Peninsula Lake, Deerhurst offers guests plenty of opportunity to relax at the Shizen Spa or take advantage of the resort’s indoor pool, whirlpool, fitness room and indoor climbing wall.
