(News Release)

TORONTO -- Do-it-yourselfers will have a chance to rub elbows with plenty of celebrity experts when the 2014 International Home & Garden Show rolls into the Metro Toronto Convention Centre starting Thursday, March 6, 2014.

“We now have two unique shows for the first time ever at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, featuring more than 400 exhibitors and over 30 celebrity speakers for people to learn home and gardening tips and tricks from,” says show manager Paul Newdick. “It really will allow people to channel their inner green thumb or home maker/renovator."

Celebrity experts who’ll be on hand to offer free seminars include: Kimberley Seldon, Karl Lohnes, Owen Reeves, Frankie Ferragine, Paul LaFrance, Albert Graves, Denis Flanagan, Marc Atiyolil, Robert Koci, Mary Dobson, Nicholas Rosaci, Lynn Spence, and many more.

This year’s show is the 26th annual and the first in its new home at the Convention Centre.

"We're very excited to be moving into the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.  This facility allows us to expand the size of the show to give more to the consumer," says Newdick.

The show, which runs through Sunday, March 9, 2014 will offer four days of everything home related.  Décor, design, entertainment, gardening and home shopping enthusiasts will take part in the show.

At the centre of it all is a 1,980 square-foot Cape Cod-style home being assembled for the show by iModular Homes of Aylmer, Ont.

General admission guarantees access to the International Home & Garden Show, as well as the Successful Gardening Show at no extra cost.

Highlights include the free Celebrity Super Dream House and Celebrity Garden Theatre seminars, the Kitchen and Bath area focusing on cabinetry, flooring, tiles, appliances and more, the Ontario Horticultural Association's Floral Design & Plant Competition “Let’s Dance”, the Gardener's Marketplace featuring thousands of plant and garden products, DIY Potting and Planting Demonstrations, a Landscape Design Competition that allows you to vote in the "People's Choice Landscape Contest," pools, patios spas, a putting green and so much more.  Prize giveaways include a $10,000 Outdoor Kitchen Oasis. Other features include Green Street (City's Live Green Toronto Pavilion), an area showcasing the latest in "e-COOL-ogical" living, including Interior Design, Modo Condo Concepts, Games in the Garden, Kitchen and Bath Gallery, and Paradise Landscapes.
