(News Release)

WATERLOO REGION, Ont. – The moment has finally arrived! Tickets for the Waterloo Region’s next blockbuster music festival are now on sale.

The inaugural Big Music Fest, held at McLennan Park in Kitchener, Ont, will take place on July 11-13.

The festival will welcome Aerosmith, Bryan Adams, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Styx, Collective Soul, Moist, Big Wreck, Kim Mitchell and more.

“This will be a huge event for the Waterloo Region,” said Minto Schneider, General Manager of Waterloo Regional Tourism Marketing Corporation. “The caliber of performers that the Big Music Fest is bringing in has already started drawing interest from across North America.”

The festival is expected to attract thousands of attendees, benefiting the many businesses and hotels in the region.

To help get the festivalgoers to and from the park a free shuttle bus service has been established and Grand River Transit will be running dedicated routes to help lower congestion in the area during the weekend festival.

Cyclists can also take advantage of the network of cycle paths in Kitchener to get around the city and into McLennan Park.

Friday will feature the free Breaking The Bands show with local performers while Saturday sees Bryan Adams, Styx, Collective Soul andMoist. Sunday’s event welcomes Aerosmith, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Big Wreck and Kim Mitchell.

Doors open at 2:00PM on Saturday and Sunday and the first performers enter the stage at 3:00PM.

“The Big Music Fest adds to the already fantastic selection of music festivals that the Waterloo Region is known for,” said Schneider. “The Waterloo Region is one of the top music scenes in Canada which is a huge boon for attracting tourists to the area.”

In addition to the Big Music Fest, the Waterloo Region is home to several other music festivals throughout the year such as the TD Kitchener Blues Festival, taking place August 7-10 and the KOI Music Festival, happening on September 19-21.
