Melissa Etheridge, "The Voice" Live Tour joins Seneca Casinos' Summer Rush lineup

Also: Change of venue for Larry the Cable Guy; updated time for John Legend

NIAGARA FALLS and SALAMANCA, N.Y. – The area’s best summer entertainment series just got better. Joining the all-star Summer Rush 2014 lineup at Seneca Casinos are a solo acoustic performance by Melissa Etheridge at Seneca Allegany Events Center on Sunday, June 22 and “The Voice” Live Tour on Friday, July 11 at Seneca Niagara Events Center.

After a sold-out performance of boisterous rock in July 2011, Melissa Etheridge returns to Seneca Allegany Events Center in Salamanca, N.Y. – this time as part of her subdued and acoustic “This Is ME Solo” run of intimate, live shows.

She will perform on Sunday, June 22 at 5 p.m.; tickets start at $50 and go on sale Monday, Apr. 21 at noon. Etheridge’s heartfelt lyrics and soulful, raspy voice are the hallmarks of emotional singles such as “Come to My Window,” “I’m the Only One,” “Like the Way I Do” and “I Want to Come Over.”

Her latest single, “Uprising of Love,” became the inspiration for a new coalition by the same name that supports the safety and dignity of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Russians. The two-time Grammy Award–winner is also gearing up to release a new solo album this fall.

Seneca Niagara Events Center will be Western New York’s destination for “The Voice” Live Tour as it comes to Niagara Falls on Friday, July 11 for an 8 p.m. performance. Tickets for the tour, presented by CLEAR SCALP & HAIR™, start at $50 and go on sale Thursday, Apr. 17 at 10 a.m. Fans of the hit reality singing competition on NBC will see their favorite contestants from the current sixth season as well as top finalists from past seasons, such as Tessanne Chin, Jacquie Lee and Will Champlin from last season. Also joining will be Dia Frampton from Season One; this season’s first-, second- and third-place winners, and; a fan favorite from this season as voted via social media. This season’s finale is slated for May 20.

Summer Rush Updates
The previously announced two performances by Larry the Cable Guy on Saturday, Aug. 16 will take place at Seneca Allegany Events Center. Tickets start at $30 and an on-sale date has been slated for Monday, May 5 at noon. The shows were initially announced as taking place at Seneca Niagara Events Center in Niagara Falls.

Also announced is a time update for John Legend on Friday, June 13 at Seneca Allegany Events Center. The show will now start one hour later at 8 p.m. Tickets for this performance start at $51 and are already nearly sold out.

Finally, an on-sale date is set for KC and the Sunshine Band, who performs Saturday, July 12 at 7 p.m. at Seneca Allegany Events Center. Tickets start at $25 and will go on sale Monday, Apr. 21 at noon.

Great Entertainment in May
In addition to more blockbuster entertainment to be announced for Summer Rush 2014, excellent seats remain on sale for Events Center shows in late May. A dual billing of the Canadian bands Platinum Blonde and Glass Tiger will turn the Seneca Niagara Events Center back in time to the new wave sounds of the 1980s on Sunday, May 18. The following weekend on Saturday, May 24, the clock turns back further as Dion sings the doo-wop hits of the 1960s such as “Runaround Sue” and “The Wanderer.”

The Seneca Allegany Events Center will also pack powerful entertainment at the end of May. Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band will provide blues and rock for Memorial Day weekend on Sunday, May 25. The following weekend on Friday, May 30, “Sons of Anarchy” and “Married with Children” star Katey Sagal and the Forest Rangers perform country, blues and rock – including groovy covers of hit songs from those musical genres.

Tickets for all shows will be available at Seneca Casino box offices, Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster locations or by phone at 800-745-3000. A list of confirmed entertainment this summer at Seneca Casinos is as follows:
