(News Release)

TORONTO, February 2, 2015--There’s a lot to celebrate during the upcoming long weekend, February 13 – 16, 2015.  In addition to enjoying Valentine’s Day, Family Day will be celebrated with a three-day long weekend in Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan.

It is also the 50th anniversary of the National Flag of Canada. (On February 15, 1965, the Canadian national flag was raised for the first time on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. In 1996, February 15th was declared National Flag Day). This year marks the 50th anniversary of the debut of the National Flag of Canada.

The Sheraton Centre Toronto is offering a special rate to help everyone celebrate this special winter long weekend in the city.   Main hotel guest rooms are priced from $135 per night, and suites are priced from $215.  With a wide selection of amenities, including the upgraded Sheraton Club Level, the hotel and its superb location across from the skating rink at Nathan Phillips Square appeals to both couples and families.  And children, 17 years of age and under, stay free in parent’s room using existing bedding.

Fun Family Day weekend activities are planned for Saturday and Sunday onsite and include Super Hero swim camp daily at 9 a.m. in the hotel’s year round indoor outdoor pool, and arts and crafts saluting the Canadian flag at 10 a.m.   On Saturday February 14th, kids will enjoy cookie decorating with Chef at 11 a.m. followed by a Kitchen Tour.  On Sunday, young guests will “Create Your Own Pizza” with favourite Canadian toppings with one of the Chefs at 11a.m. followed by a Kitchen Tour.

Throughout the weekend, guests will be invited to grab a selfie by the special Canadian Flag display in the Sheraton Centre lobby and post on social media with #FLAG50  #SheratonCentre

To celebrate Valentine’s, BnB Restaurant on the Lobby Level of the Sheraton Centre is serving up a festive Platter for Two, featuring heart-shaped burger and bun sliders accompanied by heart-shaped potato wedges and two glasses of sparkling wine.
